Term 1: The Natural Ease of Embodied Awareness

The body is the most immediate doorway into presence.

This course begins by exploring awareness as it is felt through posture, breath, movement, and sensation. Rather than trying to control experience, we learn how attention can settle and open as effort softens. Practices of mindfulness and embodied awareness support a growing sense of ease, stability, and clarity. While the body is the primary focus, other themes may be explored depending on the interests and experience of those attending.

Suitable for newcomers and experienced practitioners alike.

Term 2: The Natural Ease of Compassionate Intent

Drawing inspiration from The Jewel Ornament of Liberation and The 37 Practices of the Bodhisattva, we’ll explore bodhicitta as the living union of compassion, wisdom, and awakening mind within the Mahayana and Vajrayana traditions.

This course is intended as a coherent continuation of many of the themes we have already been exploring together, including Lama Mark’s recent programme and the deepening of the Vajrayana view and practice within our community.

There will also be space for questions and discussion related to Vajrayana practice, yidam meditation, and integrating these teachings into the path as a whole.

Open to all levels of experience.

Term 3: The Natural Ease of Spacious Awareness

As practice deepens, attention naturally widens. This course explores the mind in terms of its openness rather than its contents, allowing thoughts, moods, and mental states to arise and pass without needing to be managed.

We learn to recognise a more spacious way of knowing that brings perspective, lightness, and ease. Alongside this core focus, other aspects of practice may be explored as the course unfolds in response to the group.

Accessible to newcomers, with depth for established practitioners.

Term 4: The Natural Ease of Liberating Awareness

This course focuses on integration and how awareness expresses itself in the midst of daily life. Rather than separating meditation from experience, we explore how emotions, relationships, and everyday challenges can all become part of practice.

Attention is given to how experience releases when it is met without fixation, and how clarity shows up as responsiveness, care, and flexibility. Additional themes may be explored depending on the interests and lived experience of those attending.
